Popular monthly series, sponsored by SafetyChain Software and featuring Dr. David Acheson and The Acheson Group Team, continues to build momentum as it closes in on 2,000 participants
SafetyChain Software, innovators of realtime Food Safety Chain Management Systems (FSCMS) that automate, streamline and improve food safety and quality assurance (FSQA) while promoting regulatory, GFSI and customer compliance – celebrated the one year anniversary of its popular FSMA Fridays series with noted FSMA expert Dr. David Acheson and The Acheson Group (TAG) Team.
Launched at the end of April 2013, FSMA Fridays was created to provide an ongoing and interactive webcast forum to help food and beverage companies, who will be impacted by FDA’s Food Safety and Modernization Act, stay current and prepare for compliance with FSMA’s so-called “7 Pillars” – which include the Preventive Controls for Human Food, Animal Food, Produce, Sanitary Transport, Food Defense, Foreign Supplier Verification and Third Party Auditor proposed rules.
FSMA Fridays are held the last Friday of every month. Registration is complimentary and participants, once registered, receive monthly login instructions and recordings of all past topics. FSMA Friday schedules and registration info can be found at www.fsmafridays.com
“The response to FSMA Fridays has been ‘over the top’ – our stretch goal for Year 1 was to reach 1,000 participants and we’ve nearly doubled that number. One of the reasons for the series’ popularity, no doubt, is the in-depth expertise brought to the series by David Acheson and the TAG Team. Dr. Acheson has been involved with the development of FSMA from ‘Day 1’ and continues to be the most recognized industry thought leader on FSMA’s impact and how companies should begin to prepare,” said Barbara Levin, SafetyChain’s senior vice president and co-founder. “
“We’ve been very excited to be a part of FSMA Fridays,” commented Dr. David Acheson, TAG’s founder and chief executive officer. “The tremendous and continued momentum truly shows how front-of-mind FSMA is for the food and beverage industry – in terms of needing to understand its impact, and more important, to begin to prepare for compliance.” Dr. Acheson continued, “As we now begin to anticipate final rules being issued, along with the next round of commentary, we’re very excited to be that resource where we can help industry understand where FSMA stands, and what they need to be doing, in a timely manner.”
