SafetyChain Software’s FSMA Fridays June 26 Session to Cover “Supply Chain Risk Controls and the Voluntary Qualified Importer Program (VQIP)”

SafetyChain’s monthly online FSMA Fridays discussion, led by Dr. David Acheson and The Acheson Group team, will discuss basic VQIP principles and impact as well as overall FSMA supply chain risk control requirements

SafetyChain Software, leaders in Food Safety Chain Management Systems that Automate, Streamline & Improve Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA)™, is pleased to announce the topic for its June FSMA Fridays session on Friday, June 26, 2015: Supply Chain Risk Controls and the Voluntary Qualified Importer Program.

FSMA Fridays is an online, interactive forum that helps the food and beverage industry stay up-to-date on FDA’s Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA); examines the impact FSMA rules will have on food safety and quality operations; and provides guidance on how to prepare for FSMA compliance. It is estimated that more than 80 percent of food and beverage companies will have to comply with FSMA.

The popular monthly series, which has attracted more than 2,000 ongoing registrants, features FSMA icon Dr. David Acheson and The Acheson Group’s food safety team, who address pre-submitted and live questions from the audience, on a schedule of FSMA related topics.

The June 26 session will begin with a general update on FSMA, followed by discussion topics including:

  • What are the basic principles of the VQIP?
  • Where does the VQIP come into FSMA’s supply chain risk controls?
  • What do I have to do to apply for the VQIP?
  • Do some of the new FSMA changes impact who has to comply with the Foreign Supplier Verification Program?
  • How much will the VQIP really impact me – particularly if FDA is currently not stopping our imports anyway?
  • How should you approach supply chain risk controls for FSMA compliance and brand protection?

As always, following the discussion, The Acheson Group team will also answer questions from participants. Registrants are encouraged to submit their questions prior to the event using the form included with their registration reminder, or ask them live.
