WALTER SMITH

Executive Director and Co-Founder

Recognizing the growing global concern around the safety and quality of consumable goods, Walter “Wally” Smith founded SafetyChain Software to fill critical gaps in the enforcement of food safety and quality standards. Wally has an extensive history of turning start-up Software-as-a-Service ventures into industry leaders bringing strong value to customers and strong returns to investors.

Wally’s past ventures have included Enwisen, which he led to become the recognized leader of SaaS-based HR Service Delivery solutions, CEO of AOS and Advanced Analog as well as other successful technology innovators.

JOSEPH J. UEBERROTH

SafetyChain Board Director

Mr. Joseph Ueberroth is the founder and Managing Partner of the Bellwether Financial Group. Since 1997, he has overseen the firm’s investment strategy and its entry into both private equity and venture capital investing. Mr. Ueberroth has spent his career investing in businesses and at times has been the Chief Executive Officer of companies ranging from startups to companies with multinational operations to a publicly traded company.

Mr. Ueberroth is currently the Chairman of the Board of three companies and serves on the Board of Directors of an additional four companies. His current involvements range from agriculture to manufacturing to technology. Mr. Ueberroth received his BA from Dartmouth College and his EDP from the University of California, Irvine Graduate School of Management.

BARRY MAXON

CEO and Co-Founder

Barry Maxon brings over 20 years software and consulting management experience to his role as CEO and President of SafetyChain. Barry inspires innovation while ensuring accountability and customer success.

Before his role as CEO and President, Barry led SafetyChain’s sales and consulting team facilitating the fast-growth and adoption of SafetyChain’s technologies in the marketplace. Prior to SafetyChain, Barry was an integral member of the executive team at Enwisen Software where he helped the company become a market-leader. He was a management consultant at A.T. Kearney helping companies optimize their operations and served as an officer in the US Navy.

Peter Arrowsmith

SafetyChain Board Member

Peter has more than two decades of experience with JMI helping to build leading software companies. He is currently a director of CampusLogic, Canto, SafetyChain, Seismic, Vena Solutions, and Yello, and a board observer at OpenSesame. Prior to joining JMI in 1996, Peter was an associate at AEA Investors and a business analyst at McKinsey & Company.

Peter is also on the Board of Trustees of The Bishop’s School.
